Come on! Journey headlining at Winterland? On a Sunday? Why not! Opening up for this concert was The Tubes in splendor! Second on the bill was Mahavishnu Orchestra: Jean-Luc Ponte, Billy Cobham and John McLaughlin wowing the crowd! Damn, Journey hadn’t even graced the stage yet!​

I had been at the first gig that Journey played on December 31, 1973 also at Winterland when they were third on the bill opening up that sold out new years concert with Herbie Hancock next leaving the headliners Santana to bring on the new year!
